This piece was written in collaboration with janus during the 2004-2005 season. Of his piece, the composer writes, “the first movement is meant to be sound improvisatory. The players go their own way rhythmically, but move in parallel through a series of harmonic fields. The second movement features repetitive figures and ostinatos which break down and build up again. The last, song, is sung first by viola and then piccolo in what could be a slowed-down pop song.”
