A set of theme and variations based on the Welsh folk tune Ymadawiad y Brenin, Eisteddfod’s namesake is an ancient festival in Wales for performers, writers and musicians. In this brilliantly constructed piece, each player demonstrates individual virtuosity in the variations and candenzas culminating in the dramatic presentation of the theme, uniquely placed at the end of the work.
