Right Up Front is an attempt at stripping away frills and trickery and focusing on a just a few things that make music awesome: a few notes, good chords, fast rhythms.

Under the Rug (2009)

Under the Rug is a combination of Bjork's album Vespertine, with its emphasis on little sounds and transparent textures, and the kora lute music of West Africa. Since they usually play solo, many kora players have percussion strapped to their wrists and ankles to accompany themselves. In Under the Rug that role is passed to the flutist who plays rhythmic accompaniments on the strings and resonant body of the harp.
